2019 Healthy Holiday Gift Guide

Have you been stuck on what gift to give your loved ones this holiday season? We know picking out the right gift can sometimes be a difficult task, but we hope to make it easier and healthier for you this year. We’ve put together a list of our 10 favorite holiday gifts this season to give you that inspo you need to check the names off your list!

  1. Passes to an exercise class — Has someone in your life said they’ve really wanted to try the new pilates class near by? Or are you trying to motivate someone to add more physical activity in their life? Whatever the reason, passes to an exercise class can give someone the opportunity to try something new and get moving. A bonus could be to buy yourself a pass too and tag along with them! Let us know if you need some ideas ;) Check out the app ClassPass for an easy way to get the most variety.

  2. Gift card to a healthy restaurant — Like the last idea, a gift card to a healthy restaurant gives someone the chance to taste some new foods, go to a new place, or go back to somewhere they love on you! Every one loves food, and you can’t beat free healthy food.

  3. Centerpiece with an array of fruits — You may be thinking, whaaat? A bowl of fruit? Hear me out. This idea allows you to pick out a nice bowl, vase, or any sort of container to give as the main gift. The extra fruit - which could be apples, oranges, grapes, etc - serves as a bonus gift. Citrus fruits are in season over the holiday. Fruits are filled with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which we all need, especially during the cold and flu season. And we hope you encourage them to use their bowl to make a big salad!

  4. Gift card to a health food store or farmers market — This idea is especially great for the young adults, college students, or recent college grads in your life. A really great gift to them may simply be just having a week of groceries for free. A health food store or farmers market will ensure they are eating the freshest and most nutrient dense food.

  5. Tea Assortment — Tea is the perfect gift for a co-worker or friend. Who doesn’t love snuggling up with a warm cup of tea to get cozy in the winter?! We recommend herbal teas or green tea as they have loads of nutrients and little caffeine. Green tea also has L-Theanine, which is great for stress relief.

  6. Essential Oils and/or Diffuser — Essential oils add the perfect touch to a room’s atmosphere and also offer incredible aromatherapy benefits such as stress relief and improved sleep. They also make great stocking stuffers. A great winter blend is White Fir and Peppermint. Check out Dr. Tetlow’s DoTerra page here to get the most pure, organic oils!

  7. Foam Roller — Have a gym fanatic or someone in your life who suffers from muscle or joint pain. Help them get the myofascial release they need with the gift of a foam roller. Studies have shown it helps reduce pain and inflammation, improve sleep and increase joint range of joint motion.

  8. Journal — The simple gift of a journal can do and be everything for the recipient. Mental health is certainly not something to forget this holiday season and gifting someone a journal can motivate them to start a daily journaling practice, which has been proven to foster mindfulness and positive thinking. Dr. Tetlow recommends the 5 Minute Journal.

  9. Mindfulness Class — We hope nourishing mental and emotional health is something on you and your family’s list this season. Why not give them the gift of mindfulness with an 8 week mindfulness course let by the wonderful, Monika Brass, at our clinic in Wayne. The course starts February 4th, 2020 and runs every Tuesday. Only 10 spots are available so space is limited. Both Dr. Tetlow and Lynda just completed our most recent mindfulness course.

  10. PIM Gift Cards and Supplement — We are having a holiday sale at PIM! The most important investment you can make is in yourself. If you don’t have your health, you can’t live to your life’s fullest potential. For this reason, we want to make our care more accessible to you. Starting now until January 1, 2020, we are offering 10%-off $50 gift cards to our clinic. They are good for any purchase in our clinic. We are also offering 20%-off supplements from our online dispensary, Fullscript.

As we are drawing close to the end of the year, we want to remind you to use up the remainder of your FSA and HSA, as it does not roll over into 2020! This resource can offer much financial ease, especially during the holiday season. Use it to your benefit!
