Spring has Sprung! (part 1)

Spring Renewal

Written by Dr. Georgia Tetlow, MD and edited by Clare Abercrombie, BS

After a long, gray winter, Spring is on the horizon.  The sun is staying out later and showering us with a little extra vitamin D. We’re right on the brink of shedding our bulky winter coats.  This time of year is synonymous with shedding those extra layers, refreshment, and renewal. What are some of the ways you can fully embrace this lovely season?  We have some recommendations that will spring you into action.

1. Simplify Your Home for Some Peace of Mind

When our living space is simplified, our minds begin to follow suit.  This might be a good time to organize your home and de-clutter. Whether you donate belongings or plan a yard sale, getting rid of what you don’t use will make your home more efficient and help to clear your mind.  A wise friend once told me, “If you haven’t used it in two years, you don’t need it!”

This doesn’t necessarily mean revamping your entire house.  It can be something as small as organizing your closet and storing away winter clothes.  Maybe there are some condiments in your refrigerator that are past their prime.  Minor changes can be very significant.
